This world is full of stereotypes and misconceptions. The media pumps our minds with ideas on what a fit person looks and acts like. The alternative approach to medicine has increased greatly in recent years. People are no longer reaching for the medicine cabinet or self-diagnosing on Web MD as a means to cure their aches and pains.
When I got certified to teach yoga, friends and strangers alike made comments to me saying things like, "You don't look like a yogi," or "I didn't know you were a vegetarian!"
I constantly change up my hairstyle and fashion choices. One day I could be wearing an off the shoulder top with baggy, hiphop pants. The next day I could be rocking a cocktail dress and a shaved head. And NO, I am not a vegetarian!
YOGA HAS NO FACE.
Yoga means union.
It is not a religion. It is not about touching your chin to your toes.
